FAQ #2 - Why do you not
use the standard karate belt system?
Without even getting into the history and origin of the
karate belt system, one can easily observe that there are many problems
with the value and equivalency of a colored belt system. For instance,
a black belt in one system may only be at an equivalency of a blue or
green belt in another system. There have been black belts granted to
children as young as 5(search google, there are many announcements)
and even chimpanzees!
This has greatly corrupted the meaning behind
the belt system. Corruption is also rampant in the belt ranking systems
when it comes to testing fees, association dues and 'maintenance' subscriptions.
Some systems actually
revoke belts if this 'maintenance dan reissue fee' is not paid annually.
The concept of the colored belt
ranking system is actually very good. Desirable gradations with clearly
defined goals can be a great motivator, especially for one with American
values. Americans are competitive by nature. Therefore, acquiring
a belt has, in the past, held status and given honor indicating that
one is disciplined and set apart from the uninitiated. However, as the
American culture has become faster and faster paced, Americans do not
always devote the time and effort that was once required to receive
these recognitions and honors. This is unfortunate for the true martial
artist who still devotes time and effort in pursuit of becoming an elite
martial artist. These martial artists are deserving of the real honor
that once was given.
We at Elite-Fighters.com have developed a ranking system
that will give the honor, recognition and prestige deserving of those
who are willing to train with the intensity and devotion to be placed
among the elite.
Procedures have been implemented at Elite-Fighters.com
to prevent politics, money and other corruptions from adulterating the
Elite-Fighters Ranking System. Through the fires of training, you will
face the truth of yourself and your abilities.
