Paladin
Rank Insignia

The Elite-Fighters System of martial
arts has adopted insignia to represent each rank of the system. Insignia
are symbols that are designed to give meaning beyond the image that
they represent. The development of symbols follow the pattern from an
actual object - to an image of that object - finally to the symbol that
metaphorically represents the object and imparts deeper meaning to the
initiated.
The objects from which we derive symbols
for the Elite-Fighters Ranking Insignia come from the six main armor
pieces of the Roman Centurion. The Roman Centurions are considered,
by historians, as the greatest warriors that the world has known until
the modernization of warfare in the last two centuries. The Romans conquered
their enemy and then assimilated them into their government to form
the amalgamated Roman Empire. The Elite-Fighters System of Martial Arts
has taken the approach of the Roman Empire to conquer the martial art
systems and amalgamate them into the most efficient and unique martial
art in modern history.
The object representing the Paladin
Rank is the helmet (helm or galea) of the centurion. The helmet
is the centurion's salvation in combat. It was the piece of equipment
that would protect the centurion's head from incapacitating and fatal
blows. The insignia of the Paladin Rank is symbolized by a helmet with
five plumes, representing the previous five ranks leading to the Paladin
Rank. This rank introduces you to the study of the use of firearms weapons,
and ground fighting with weapons. The nature of this rank involves methods
that can save and take away life. Salvation, therefore, is the hidden
meaning of the Paladin Insignia.
