Defense Against Terrorist Style Blade Attack
If your attacker begins to slash at you from the front, have the resolve that you may get cut. However, by using these principles, you may be able to limit the exposure to danger that you face, while you disarm the attacker.
As the attacker begins to slash at your throat, step laterally to the right with your right foot. Block/parry inward with the outside of your right forearm to interrupt the slashing of the blade.
If the blade slices into your arm, it will be the back of your forearm that gets cut, therefore, your arteries and tendons will be more protected.
Continue pressure against the attacker's forearm and pass the blade in a counterclockwise circle. At the bottom of the circle grab the attackers wrist with your left hand as both hands get a tight grip on the wrist.
If you cannot get a grip on his wrist, disengage with a lateral movement and try to get to safety or find a weapon of opportunity to fight back.
Continue circling the attacker's wrist counterclockwise, thrusting the blade into the attacker's throat. Continue the counterclockwise action of your grip to slash across his throat, throwing the attacker to the ground. Finish the attacker by pulling up on his wrist while pressing down on his throat; thus, forming a choke with you foot.
