Knife versus Slashing Blade Attack

As a member of the armed forces, you may become involved in close quarter combat where automatic weapons may not be practical. In this scenario we will examine an inward downward slashing blade attack toward your throat.

 

The opponent slashes his blade toward your throat. As the enemy slashes at your throat, step off laterally to your right as you begin to slice toward your attackers arm.
   
Side step to your right and slice into the opponent's right forearm to deflect the attack. Slice deeply into the enemy's arm as you prepare to grab his wrist.
   
Grab the opponent's right wrist with your left hand.

Grab the enemy's wrist with your left hand while preparing to counter strike with your knife.

This must be done quickly. If you cannot grab his wrist, disengage and reposition to renew your attack

   
Thrust your knife into the opponent's throat.

Thrust your knife into the enemy's throat. Slash inward as you cock the knife back for a follow up strike.

Your left hand must try to maintain its grip throughout the clash.

   
Prepare the knife by your left side. Prepare for an outward thrust.
   
Thrust the knife outwardly into the opponent's upper right rib cage.

Thrust the knife into the enemy's rib cage. The arm pit region is usually not covered well with body armour.

   
Switch to reverse grip and set a figure four lock.take down with the blade against his wrist. Bend the enemy's wrist upward as you switch your knife into reverse grip. Place your knife against the enemy's wrist forming a figure-four lock in preparation to take him down to the ground for a final thrust.
